How fees work

What you pay depends on your plan, the treatment your dentist recommends and how you pay. Here is each part, and what we can put in writing for you.

  • Insurance we work with

Give us the name of your plan when you call or write, and we will tell you before your visit whether we are in network. We send claims to your plan on your behalf.

    • PPO and indemnity plans: ask us if we are in network

    • DHMO plans: they pay differently, so call first

    • Medicare and Medicare Advantage: dental coverage varies by plan

    • Medicaid and CHIP: ask us and we will answer yes or no

  • If you pay yourself

Paying without insurance is fine. You pay the fee for your visit, and we tell you the fee before any treatment starts. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

  • Receipts for reimbursement

If you pay us and your plan reimburses you, we give you an itemized receipt to send to your plan. The plan decides what it pays.

  • An estimate in advance

Anyone paying without insurance gets a written estimate in advance, and so does anyone who asks. It lists each treatment, the number of visits and the expected cost.

    • Ask when you book or at your visit

    • In writing, before treatment begins

  • Checking your benefits

Our front desk checks your benefits before your first visit and tells you what your plan says it covers. If your plan's estimate and ours differ, we show you both.

  • What the first visit includes

Plan on about an hour: an exam, X-rays if your dentist decides you need them, and a talk about what we find. Bring your insurance card, a photo ID and a list of your medicines.

    • An exam and the X-rays your dentist decides on

    • A written plan with your options

    • Time for your questions

An estimate is what we expect to bill. Your plan's final payment may differ, and we explain any difference before you pay.

Questions about paying

01How do I get a written estimate?

Ask when you book or at your visit. After your exam the dentist lists the treatment, the visits it takes and the expected cost, and our front desk goes over your benefits with you.

02What if my plan pays less than the estimate?

Your plan's estimate is the plan's, not ours. If its final payment differs, we explain the difference before you pay and go over your options.

03Do you offer financing?

Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender. Ask our front desk for the lender's own terms before you decide.
